Matthew Toye I'm going to praise 'The IVth Crusade' until the end of time. It's absolutely my favourite Bolt Thrower album. This riff filled classic should be in every death metal fan's collection. Favorite track: As the World Burns.

James Taylor This was only my 2nd Bolt Thrower cassette, (after the amazing Realm of Chaos), and it was HEAVY. There's really no substitute for HEAVY in metal. Excellent album altogether!

Ritual has the best intro on the record. A brutal sonic beating that leaves you in a bloody pulp on the floor! Favorite track: Ritual.

xhrl_ Applying Iron Maiden-style melodic riffing to their grinding - notably in the melodic lead riffing fills that follow grinding rhythm riffs -- BT produce a sense of sliding out from under harsh, abrasive life. This work is diverse in its musical structures; yet the songs still retain their narrative & thematic intensity despite BT’s experimentation. This LP reveals not only the influence of the Swedish DM that formed DM's cutting edge, but also an effort to grow in style & substance. Smashing LP!
